Do You Need Vinegar to Dye Your Hair with Koolaid?

Some instructions for dying your hair with koolaid say that you need vinegar. What if you don't have vinegar? What does vinegar do and can you still dye your hair without it?

Yes, you can dye your hair with koolaid without using vinegar. All vinegar really does is strip the hair of any impurities like metals, toxins, dirt, soap residue... If you use hair products like shampoo, conditioner, hair spray, etc. it's very likely that you have some kind of build up on your hair. Since koolaid stains the outer layer of hair, it's best to start with a clean slate. Vinegar gets the crap off your hair so that the koolaid dye will look more even and will stain better.

But do you need it? Not really. If you don't have it, you can still dye your hair with koolaid. You can even use a daily clarifying shampoo to help you, although it's not better than vinegar. I cleanse my hair about monthly with vinegar just for the sake of doing so, because it's good for your hair; however, I don't use vinegar during the dye process. 1. So you mean like it didn't dye your hair? Kinda hard to tell what you are asking here... For some people, koolaid doesn't dye their hair for some reason. Actually parts of my hair will not dye and other parts will. It's weird.
